What is an SOP and why care about it?
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) are the documented processes that a company has in place to ensure services and/or products are delivered consistently every time. Every company, business, and restaurant/bar has SOPs, whether it’s “How to close a check” or “Classic Mojito recipe” they exist to protect and enhance operations across the entire business. It sets limits and expectations for everyone to learn and follow, including customer service operations. When employees regularly follow SOPs it can create better retention, adherence, and therefore, faster service.
